BREAKOUT
MGC pays a subscription fee to the Breakout Website.Log on to any school computer then type www.breakout.org.nz into Internet Explorer. This facility is also available at the Blenheim town library.

VARIOUS SCHOLARSHIPS
ARROW FOUNDATION LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP
Applications are now open and close on Friday 7th October.
For Year 12 & 13 students who demonstrate leadership qualities. Available for all tertiary programmes or courses.
CANTERBURY BRIGHT START SCHOLARSHIPS
The Canterbury Tertiary Education Millennial Trust was established in 2001 to offer scholarships to students from the Canterbury, West Coast, Nelson and Marlborough regions who have the ability to succeed in tertiary study but who experience financial or significant personal hardship.
First year fees paid for full-time study at CPIT, Lincoln University or University of Canterbury. Applicants must have lived in the South Island north of the Waitaki River for the last 12 months and be likely to experience financial hardship in tertiary study.

KEYSTONE TRUST STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP
For students seeking tertiary education in a course directly associated with the Property Industry:

QUEENSTOWN RESORT COLLEGE
Scholarships for Diploma in Hospitality Management, and Diploma in Adventure Tourism or Tourism Management.
For NZ Citizens who will complete Year 13 in 2011.

UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS
Each university and polytechnic offer scholarships and grants so search their websites for their scholarships section.
Watch out for closing dates as they could be as early as August of the year preceding your study!
The University of Auckland
has a number of entry level scholarships for 2012.
Closing date is 2nd September. Referees’ reports and supporting documents must be received by this date.
Engineering Kick Start Scholarship - $2000. Applications close 6th Jan 2012.
University of Canterbury
Scholarships at University of Canterbury have been increased by more than a third for 2012.
Unlimited numbers of UC Undergraduate Entrance Scholarships are available for those who get merit or excellence endorsements in Year 12 and Year 13.
Emerging Leaders Scholarships are now open and applications are due 1st September.
UC Dux Scholarship - $5000
Entrance Scholarships for high achieving students. (Domestic & International students)
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS – Scholarships up to $20,000 a year for 4 years!

Lincoln University
Sports Scholarships

Waikato University
Sir Edmund Hillary Scholarship Programme covers full fees for the duration of your study in any degree programme at Waikato University. For students who excel academically, in sport, or in creative and performing arts and have leadership qualities. Applications close 31 October 2010.
