As Academic Prefects this year our job is to promote academic achievement throughout the school. We hope to introduce new ways of promoting academic achievement within the school.
The Peer Tutoring Program has successfully begun with many girls showing interest to help tutor, we would like to thank all girls helping others in their learning. We would like to remind all girls who want extra help in any subject that they are more than welcome to fill out one of the forms by the white box in guidance and put the forms in the box. We will assign them a tutor as soon as possible.
We have started up a Study Guide Recycling Program at the end of term one. This is aimed to help girls achieve better academically by providing them with free access to past exam papers and study guides. Anyone with old (no older than 2008 please) study guides at home of which they are willing to donate please bring them in and put them in the striped box on the shelf by the desk in the library. These will be made available to girls a few weeks into term two.
The Academic committee is currently organizing and planning subject weeks. The subject weeks this term are English week (week 7), Technology week (week 9) and Social Sciences week (week 10).
We are also currently organizing an interschool Academic quiz night! This will probably occur in week 8 Term 2 on the 10th of June. Parents and teachers are welcome to participate. Make up a team of four and dress up as a team, (so themed dress up). There will be epic prizes to be won. So don't miss out because it will pretty much be the highlight of ones social life.
