2010 guarantees to be another busy year for the cultural side of Marlborough Girls’ College. As this year’s cultural prefect, I'm looking forward to working closely with our cultural coordinator, Mrs Del’Monte. Our first task together is to pick a cultural committee. I'm looking for a dynamic and committed group of girls who are passionate about promoting the arts within the school. The main goal for this year is to reinforce the importance of exploring students’ interest in the arts while maintaining excellent academic results. Several annual events like the Big Sing, House Drama, House Choir, Shakespeare Globe Centre NZ University of Otago Sheilah Winn National Shakespeare Festival and Southern Jam are some of the events high on our agenda to promote.

With an enormous list of cultural events taking place this year, I'm hoping to fulfill my love of the arts by participating in some of them! I'm extremely excited to make this year a success with the help and support of my committee and Mrs Del’Monte.
