Pacifica Prefect

Malo'e lelei, Talofa lava, Nisa-Bulavivaka, Kia orana, aloha, Mauri ora and warm Pacific greetings.

My name is Maata Mesui and I am the Pacifica Prefect for 2010. Being of Tongan descent, female leadership roles in the Tongan custom is looked upon as being very ‘strong' and ‘independent', so having this leadership role is a huge privilege for me.

As Pacifica Prefect my role is to promote Pacifica culture, supporting Pacifica students within the College and to ensure that they perform to the best of their ability, academically but also involvement within and outside of school. My goals for this year is to be a great role model for the up and coming Pacifica leaders, ensuring that these students aim high to achieve academically and to also have fun while learning; enjoy each moment spent within the college as these moments will be moments that will never be forgotten. What I would like to work on this year with our Pacifica students is to build healthy relationships with the teachers of our College. Building these relationships between the teachers and students will definitely have a huge impact on the students learning. I would also like to work alongside our juniors as I think it is important as a senior to set good examples for these young women to become successful leaders in the future. I look forward to all the new challenges that are yet to come and hope that it will be an awesome yet positive year for everyone.
