Student Representative

2010 is going to be a fantastic year and I am already incredibly excited about the changes taking place throughout the school to ensure we all do our best and achieve great results. This is my second year as the Board of Trustees Representative so I am gearing up to do twice as much as I did last year since I have twice as much experience behind me.

In my capacity as the Student Representative on the Board of Trustees, I am especially focusing this year on improving the pathways in the school for students to get their opinions, concerns and ideas across to the BOT and prefect body and also to the members of the Marlborough District Council Youth Forum. Hopefully, this will improve youth culture in the school community and the wider community of Marlborough.

One of my big focuses this year, outlined in the BOT strategic plan, is to improve relations between the three high schools in Marlborough and I am looking forward to working with the management team, prefects and all of the student body in this endeavour. I am passionate about student voice and I am always happy to hear what everyone has to say so please do not hesitate to approach me in school, email me or come visit me in form time (ORAM in T2) at any time throughout the school year.

Towards the end of the year I will also be working with the newly appointed BOT student rep! This will be a new experience for me and I am definitely looking forward to supporting and training whoever is chosen to take over, so make sure you put your name forward for this amazing opportunity if you are in Year 10-12 this year.

Remember, student voice is the most powerful tool we have to create positive change. Let's make 2010 a productive, amazing year to be remembered for all the right reasons!
