Our School

Our Community

A big thank you to all those who contribute time, money, resources or goods to Marlborough Girls’ College over the year. Without our ‘Supporters’, both locally and nationally, we would never be able to achieve everything we set out to do for our students and staff at MGC.

60th Jubilee Celebrations

As 60 years passed, in October 2023 we celebrated a special weekend with present and past MGC Principals, students and teachers, sharing memories, stories and antics!

A video of the weekends’ highlights can be viewed here.

Our Partners

Iwi

There are eight Iwi in Te Tau Ihu. They are Ngāti Kuia, Rangitāne, Ngāti Apa, Ngāti Koata, Ngāti Rārua, Ngāti Toa, Ngāti Tama and Te Ātiawa. We are delighted to work closely with Ngāti Kuia, Rangitāne, Ngāti Rārua and Ngāti Toa to progress our work in Te Tātoru o Wairau, and support Rangatahi Māori to succeed as Māori.

Whānau

Whānau hui are conducted once a term to discuss and share learning  and cultural opportunities such as kapa haka, Ngā Manu Kōrero and a variety of wānanga.

Fono

The Pasifika Fono occur once a term alongside Marlborough Boys’ College to celebrate and share cultural and learning opportunities for our Pasifika students and their families.

Piritahi Kahui Ako

We are proud to be members of Piritahi Kahui Ako. This is the key community of learning/Kahui Ako in Marlborough which incorporates early learning services, schools, kura and secondary colleges. We work together to help learners achieve their full potential.

Together we set shared goals based on the needs of our tamariki and rangatahi.
