Enrolment Information

We are always excited to welcome new students to Marlborough Girls’ College, whether you are in Year 9 or any other year group. Starting at a new school provides lots of opportunities and can also be challenging. This page has useful links to information for new students and new whānau.

Please contact our main office on admin@mgc.school.nz or call reception on 03 520 8448, if you have any questions or cannot find something. You can also look at our Welcome Guide for Students and Whānau.

We recommend all students and their parents/whānau download the school app which is a useful source of information and how we send emergency notifications to our community. You can find out more about the app and how to download it here.

We look forward to welcoming you and your whānau to our kura and supporting you to make new friends and progress in your learning.

What you need for school

Stationery

Please ensure you bring pens, pencils, an eraser, a refill pad and your digital device (if you have one) on your first day.

Your subject teachers will advise you on stationery requirements for their subject in the first few days.

Stationery can be purchased from our local suppliers or through OfficeMax (delivery to your door).

BYOD

All students from years 9-13 need to bring a digital device for learning. Students using devices are able to collaborate in solving real world problems and to develop the essential learning skills that are needed for life in the 21st Century.

We offer Chromebooks for students who are unable to provide their own while they are enrolled at MGC.

Uniform & PE Gear

The Marlborough Girls’ uniform is practical and is designed to look smart on every girl. The range of uniform items allows for comfort and alternatives depending on the season and the weather. We expect students to show pride in themselves, the College and their uniform by wearing it correctly at all times.

Marlborough Girls’ College warmly welcomes all intending students for the 2025 school year.
