Our School
Vision & Values
Our purpose is to develop young women who are independent learners with the skills and attributes to make our community, our nation and our world a better place. The school community works together to challenge and empower everyone to learn and achieve their personal best.
The symbols for each of our uara have been designed around raranga – the weaving of strands of harakeke. This represents weaving together the threads of people to create a supportive community within our kura. It also acknowledges the history of the Wairau and that part of our site which used to be a flax mill.

Whanaungatanga
Whānau, belonging, collaboration, communication, self, identity and culture.
The symbol for whanaungatanga shows people coming together in connection. It can also represent a figure standing with arms raised and feet firmly planted on the ground, showing the strength we gain from whanaungatanga.
Manaakitanga
Respect for ourselves and each other, creativity, thinking, showing resilience and creativity.
The symbol for Manaakitanga shows the strands weaved together to form a sheltering tohu which cares for all and is representative of tuakana-teina relationships within our kura.
Kotahitanga
Community, leadership, service and Kōtuitui | connecting and interlacing, working together in partnership
The symbol for Kotahitanga shows the strands locked together firmly and demonstrates the strength we gain in working together as one.
