Learning Support

There are a wide variety of support services available for all students at Marlborough Girls’ College. We recommend that students and whānau new to our kura look through our Welcome Guide for Students and new whānau. This resource can answer most of your questions. After students have started they will have their whānau teacher to connect with most days, and a Dean is allocated for each year group to provide additional pastoral support.

Our Campus

Library

Reading is one of the few pleasures in life that can both enhance learning and relieve stress at the same time. Our Librarian, Mrs Colleen Shipley, and Assistant Librarian, Mrs Anna Crowe, are always available to answer questions, recommend books or guide our students and staff. The Library has resources for all learners and our staff are happy to assist with research needs. The library is open from 8.30 am to 3.30 pm every day.

Learning Support

Our Learning Support team provides a variety of support for students throughout our Kura. We have an experienced team of Teacher Aides that work with and alongside students in the classroom to support their learning. Additional assistance is available on request and parents/whānau or students are encouraged to make contact with the Learning Centre if they would like support.

Homework Club

Our Homework club runs from 3.30 pm to 5 pm every Wednesday afternoon after school. It takes place in the new library and there are a mix of Teachers and Manutaki available to support students with their learning. Students are encouraged to come along with friends or by themselves to connect with others and get support in any subject.
